2008 marked the 86th year of the Fort Langley May Day, held to celebrate the birthday of Queen Victoria. For a small village like Fort Langley the May Day is a big event, attracting thousands of visitors for the day. The weather this year was cloudy with some showers; enough to dampen clothing and floats but not spirits. I have been attending since the early 50's--sorry but can't remember exactly when--and have always been fascinated by the people and activities. So much happens that it's impossible to capture everything so this is but a very small sample...
A collection of shots from our tractor pulling days in the 80s. These are not in any particular order and I'm not sure where all of them were taken but perhaps we'll sort that out over time. My apologies for the colour on some of these; they're starting to show their age and some of the B&W pics are taking on a slightly green tinge while some of the slides are beginning to show a slightly reddish cast.
