This old farmhouse sits in the middle of a field not far from where I live and in the many years that I've passed by I've watched it go from being a home full of people and life to an old boarded up building without much future. The property sold quite a few years ago and the entire farm is now used to grow lawn turf. The house and outbuildings were vacant and pretty run down when the new owners took over and they soon knocked all the other buildings down and tore out the driveway and some trees that lined it. For some strange reason, however, they left the old house standing and even gave it a new coat of paint a few years ago--perhaps an homage to the memories and ghosts that still inhabit the place.
