Who?..Me?

Who?..Me?

The Eastern Gray Squirrels have been expanding their territory in the Fraser Valley for years and for some time it seemed like we might avoid the onslaught. However, three or four years ago one showed up at the feeders in my backyard and since then they've steadily increased in numbers to the point where I can often count a dozen or so at one time. This saddens me because they put a lot of pressure on our native Douglas Squirrels--although I still have one or two aggressive little Douglases visiting the feeders. I've tried keeping the "big" squirrels away from the feeders but it's virtually impossible so I've resigned myself to enjoying them for what they are. Caught this guy on the ground looking for some peanuts I had thrown out.
